COACHES
Between our two senior, C-licenced coaches are almost three decades of coaching experience and five decades of playing experience.
Perhaps more importantly, our single greatest goal is to ensure that each player wants to return next week. It’s that simple.
We’re not into elitism and we don’t insist that our players come from a certain level of team or talent. We’re about the love of the game and the improvement of every player in a physically and socially safe and healthy environment.
PYTHONS FC is what football in Canberra is all about - it brings people together for the love of the game.

He has coached local teams for over seven years and has now earned the coveted position of coach of a National Premier League squad.

At his best, Chris was selected for the NSW Schoolboys team. At his worst, he was a member of a Brindabella Blues FC Masters squad that lost 19 games in a row. In between he played with and coached for numerous clubs in Sydney, London and Canberra. In the last four years the teams he has coached have won over 90 per cent of their matches. But no matter the result, he has loved every minute, as have his players.
James Power
Trainee coach
James is known locally as a fearsome striker. The goal-hungry 12-year-old was selected for the 2019 season into a National Premier League team. But while he’s a wily opponent on the field, once the final whistle blows he becomes a big brother. Just as he does with his younger sisters, James enjoys working with and caring for children, who respond very positively to his gentle, brotherly approach.
Sam Sheedy
Trainee coach
Sam has played Division 1 winter football for his entire life and has also never missed a summer futsal competition. Thanks to his talents, he was selected for a National Premier League team in 2019. Sam loves nothing more than sharing his skills by having a kick in the backyard with his little brother. Coaching groups of young boys and girls, he says, is simply a bigger and better way to do that.
